DIY: Make Up Brush Holder!

Hello everyone, so today i thought it would be really fun to do a DIY post on my blog as i am wanting to sort out my makeup collection this month as its very un organised.

One of the things i have been seeing lately as i have been looking through some youtubers videos on how they organised their makeup and  that a lot of them store their makeup brushes in really nice little pots.

Currently my make-up brushes are shoved into a little bag and i don't think that's very good. I know for some people trying to find cute little pots that match your furniture in your room is difficult..So.. Why not make some :D

Here is a list of what you will need:

A pot (This can be an old coffee pot, an old boring pot you don't need, a plant pot? ANYTHING (obviously it has to be a pot not anything but any old pot haha )
Paints
Paint brushes
Something to put your pot on while you paint (You don't want paint going everywhere)

Optional is sharpies to decorate with or lace or anything else you may want to stick on the pots, if you are going to stick some stuff on you will also need either superglue or any other glue that is very sticky.

Step 1:

Get your container and make sure any labels around it have been soaked or peeled off.
Then put down something that you don't mind getting paint all over and prepare your paints.

Step 2:

It is now time to paint our jar or pot, i used a sponge to get this lovely effect on the glass. It is actually easier than using a brush as brushes tend to end up leaving streaks in the glass. It has a sort of iced glass look about it and because i used acrylics it was super smooth when it dried.

Step 3:

When the paint is nearly fully dry but not quite start to place ribbon or other things on, if they are not too heavy you can see what they will look like. I twisted ribbon around the whole way of mine and it stayed in place.

Because the ribbon isn't thick glue can be put threw it so i didn't need to peal it off again, i just simply put some straight onto the ribbon and then used a bit of cardboard or you can use a paint brush to spread it.

Step 4:

All done and ready to put your makeup brushes into. :D

The jar does have coffee staining at the bottom but you can always paint the bottom too however you wont really see it anyway, unless you want to turn it upside down?

These can be made for gifts, i have made one for my mum :)

Or you can just make yourself one. They look really nice and you can get coffee containers that don't have twisty lids like mine had so those tend to look a little better however its just nice to have somewhere to store the brushes :)

See you all soon and thank you for nearly 800 page views ahh!
