Believing In Yourself
Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post!
Today I am going to be talking about believing in yourself.
When I joined college I knew that I would be with people who could ride horses better than I could as a lot of them had owned horses their whole lives whereas I hadn't.
I could ride perfectly fine at the stables I had been learning at and I was doing all sorts of things from hacking and jumping courses to riding horses that were more difficult than others but when I got to college all of a sudden my confidence went after I fell from one of the horses, it had spooked and had thrown me off.
From then on I felt as if the others were all better riders than me which left me becoming really unconfident in myself whilst with the other girls on my college course. It frustrated me because as soon as I went to ride back at the stables I was back to my confident and capable riding abilities that I just couldn't show off at the college.
As time went on I got put on a lovely 16.1hh thoroughbred gelding. He was an ex racer and no one else seemed to like riding him. I have no idea why because he is amazing! Ever since then I picked up more and more confidence in the riding lessons at college and am now being told to show the others things that we are doing which makes me so, so happy :D
Since then we did a dressage test which was rather scary as I had never done any type of show except for Christmas games at the stables. I rode the same horse for that test and it went so well and..we ended up coming 1st!
So the motto to this story is that you just have to believe in yourself. Block out everyone else around you and do you because you know what you capabilities are and you know that you can do anything! Whatever that may be.
See you all next time! Byee :D
